Sunderland Male Voice Choir produced a series of musical videos which were published on Facebook and YouTube in 2023. 

On Saturday. 27th May 2023, the Choir performed a 'Heritage Concert' in the famous 'Pottery Gallery' at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens.

This was the first event for the new Mayor, Councillor Dorothy Trueman, who was also Patron of the Choir.

An American Trilogy

Anthem

Sunderland Male Voice Choir performed a 'Heritage Concert' in the majestic 'Pottery Gallery' at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens on Saturday, 27th May 2023. 'Anthem', from the musical 'Chess', was performed in the second concert set of songs from films and musicals. Sunderland Male Voice Choir would like to thank a member of the audience for capturing this video clip, which we hope you enjoy!


The Colliers' Requiem

Sunderland Male Voice Choir performed a 'Heritage Concert' in the beautiful surroundings of the 'Pottery Gallery' in Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens on Saturday, 27th May 2023. 'The Colliers' Requiem', which is a favourite wherever the Choir sings, was performed as part of a suite of coal mining songs. Yard Seam, Bothal High!

Sunderland Male Voice Choir performed a 'Heritage Concert' in the world-famous surroundings of the 'Pottery Gallery' at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens on Saturday, 27th May 2023. 'Yard Seam, Bothal High!' was one of a series of coal mining songs performed by the Choir. It was first performed in the musical, 'Fell 'em Doon' in the Ashington Festival in 1994. Sunderland Male Voice Choir would like to thank a member of the audience for capturing this video clip, which we hope you enjoy!


We're Going on A Randy!

Sunderland Male Voice Choir performed a 'Heritage Concert' in the fantastic 'Pottery Gallery' at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens on Saturday, 27th May 2023. 'We're Going on A Randy!' was written on a commission for The Cultural Spring and Sunderland City Council. It is about George Stephenson and the 'navvies' (workmen) who built the Hetton Colliery Railway, which opened in 1822. Sam Jordan, who wrote the song for the Choir, is featured singing the solo line. Sunderland Male Voice Choir would like to thank a member of the audience for capturing this short video, which we hope you enjoy!

The song was originally performed in the musical, 'Fell 'em Doon' at the Ashington Festival in 1994.

We're Going on A Randy at the Museum!
