Sunderland Male Voice Choir produced a series of musical
videos which were published on Facebook and YouTube in 2023.
On the 10th May 2023, the Choir performed at the Citizenship Ceremony in Sunderland City Hall.
This was the last event for the existing Mayor, Councillor Alison Wilson, who was the first Patron of the Choir.
Sunderland welcomes New Citizens!
Sunderland Male Voice Choir welcome you to the musical video, 'Sunderland welcomes New Citizens!'. The Choir supports Sunderland City Council at City Hall on a bi-monthly basis to welcome new British Citizens. This video introduces you to the Citizenship Ceremonies and takes you on a tour around the City of Sunderland. The soundtrack features four songs which are normally sung as an introduction to welcome new citizens. It was recorded at the Ceremony on Wednesday, 10th May 2023 and include 'Let the Earth Resound', 'Unchained Melody', 'Let There Be Peace On Earth' and 'When the Saints Go Marching In'.
Patriotic Music for New Citizens!
Sunderland Male Voice Choir welcome you to the musical video, 'Patriotic Music for New Citizens!'. The Choir supports Sunderland City Council by welcoming new British Citizens at City Hall on a bi-monthly basis. Two of the patriotic songs which are performed include 'Jerusalem' and 'God Save the King'. The soundtrack of this video was recorded at the Citizenship Ceremony on Wednesday, 10th May 2023. The video shows some key buildings in Cardiff, Edinburgh, London and Sunderland, as well as the Choir performing in Sunderland City Hall.
A Dedication to Our Patron!
Sunderland Male Voice Choir welcome you to the musical video, 'A Dedication to Our Patron!'. The Choir was delighted to welcome Councillor Alison Smith, The Right Worshipful Mayor of the City of Sunderland to be its first Patron. This video takes you on a journey of events which Our Patron has attended during 2022 and 2023. The soundtrack, 'The Colliers' Requiem', was recorded at the Citizenship Ceremony at Sunderland City Hall in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, 10th May 2023. This song has become one of Our Patron's favourites.
