Sunderland Male Voice Choir is creating a series of new songs about the heritage and people of Hendon under 'The Hendon Project'.
One of these themes is 'The Victoria Hall Disaster'. The Disaster in Sunderland on the 16th June 1883 is still classed as one of the worst in the country. 183 children were crushed and died from asphyxiation.
