PROUD TO GO BACK TO BASICS TO COMMEMORATE NORTH EAST LEGEND!
Sunderland Male Voice Choir just love singing at Beamish Museum!
The choristers will be going back to basics again soon to commemorate one of the most famous people from this region - George Stephenson.
The Choir has been commissioned to produce a new piece of work by The Cultural Spring to commemorate the Bicentenary of George Stephenson and the Hetton Railway.
The Men of Sunderland will start this Friday rehearsing the new song, 'We're Going to a Randy', composed by tenor, Sam Jordan. Members of the choir will become 'navvies' when they perform the chorus and learn about the important role of George Stephenson and his achievements, and the key and dangerous roles of the workmen.
The new song will be premiered by the Choir at Hetton Methodist Church on Friday, 4th November 2022.
The Choir will also be singing again at Beamish Museum on Sunday, 9th October 2022 in the 1950 Welfare Hall.
