Today is so important as it is the birthday of the 'Father of the Railways' - George Stephenson!

And just before another important local event, The Blaydon Race, gets under way, Shiney Row Male Voice Choir makes a big announcement.

The new song, which is specially being written about 'George Stephenson and the Hetton Railway', will be performed for the first time at Hetton Methodist Church on Friday, 4th November 2022.

The release of this new song will mark a significant landmark with the Bicentenary of Hetton Railway, a major engineering feat of its time!
