The Colliers’ Requiem
Shiney Row Male Voice Choir
would like to dedicate this re-recording of the famous 'Colliers' Requiem' to
all the past coal miners and their families from County Durham and Wearside,
and other parts of the country. This North East number, written by Derek Hobbs
and Mike Kirkup for 'Fell 'em Doon' is a haunting melody and a fitting tribute
to all of the hard-working miners. The choir also felt it was appropriate to
re-release the song at this time of year when we are all gripped again by the
Covid pandemic!
